Jane Dorothy Baudais (nee Hartman), late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away peacefully with her two daughters by her side on September 12, 2025 at the age of 89.
Jane was born on February 6, 1936 in Biggar, SK, to Mary (nee Adrian) and Simon Hartman. Jane had 6 siblings (Katherine, Mary, Phillip, Louis, William, and Charles) and attended school in Leipzig and Tisdale, SK. Jane’s mother passed away during childbirth when Jane was four, so Jane relied on her older siblings and her father for guidance growing up. When Jane was in her thirties, she met her husband John Baudais and they married in 1966. They spent their married life in Domremy, SK raising two daughters, Sharon and Marlene, while John farmed. Once John became ill, Jane spent her days faithfully at his bedside caring for him until his passing in 1998. After that, Jane moved to Prince Albert, SK to be close to her children and grandchildren until her passing.
Jane will be remembered for her kindness to her family and community. She spent many years volunteering her time at the Herb Bassett and Mont St. Joseph’s care homes. One of her favorite roles was being a grandma – she spent many years babysitting Sharon and Marlene’s children. From baking, to playing board games, and watching TV, Jane enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Jane’s faith was a big part of her life – she regularly attended St Joseph Parish in Prince Albert for years, until she moved into River Breeze Care Home, where she spent the remainder of her days. Jane had a quiet, but kind and loving presence. She had the ability to make anyone feel comfortable, and would always be up for a game of crib, Kaiser, or any game that her grandkids made up.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Richard) Baudais and Marlene (Michael) Mitchell; her grandchildren Ryan and Thomas Burden, Danielle (Brady) Lange, Lucas (Leah) Mitchell, and Pichaya (Jaye) Busarakham; and her great granddaughter, Natalie Lange. Jane is predeceased by her husband John, her sisters Katherine and Mary, and her brothers Phillip and William.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, Garden of the Old Rugged Cross. A time for fellowship and refreshments will follow in the Gray’s Arbor Lounge.
The family wishes to thank the staff at River Breeze for their compassion and care for Jane over the last 8 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Parish, 260-25th Street East Prince Albert, SK, S6V 1S7 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation (https://www.heartandstroke.ca/)
