It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Duffield-Drabinasty on February 13th, 2021 at the age of 63 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Betty was born on July 7th, 1957 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Murray Glen Duffield and Helen Vivian Duffield.
Betty is survived by her: sisters Susan McKay and Cathy Duffield; brothers: Allen Duffield and his son AJ Duffield, Terry and Hal Duffield; step-son Tyson Drabinasty and his daughter Kaya Drabinasty; step-daughter Cindy (Clint) Johnstone and her three daughters Brittany, Brooklyn, and Bailey; niece Bobbie Bear and her children Cody Bear, Brandon Bear, Emma Bear, Reese Hubel, and Sophia Hubel; nephews Dustin (Christina) McKenna and Thomas McKenna and his children Autumn Thompson and Adam McKenna.
Betty was predeceased by her: parents Murray and Helen Duffield, husband Phil Drabinasty and dog Foxie.
Betty married Phil Drabinasty in the summer of 2000 and would move to Prince Albert to live with him until his passing in 2002. She spent her time crocheting blankets and winter clothing for her family, friends, and for donation to those in need. Betty also took pride in fundraising and donating to organizations such as the Prince Albert SPCA, YWCA, and food bank. When Betty wasn’t working to help others, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family whenever possible, participating in craft sales, and watching curling.
Many know Betty for her friendly, welcoming, and giving nature. She met many people during her early years as a bartender, her time working at Walmart in Prince Albert, attending and participating in craft sales, as well as her various forms of volunteer-work.
In the spirit of Betty’s love to help others, we ask that any donations go to the SPCA, 125 N. Industrial Drive, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T1.
