RUBY “DOREEN” BROWN

April 8, 1924 – March 21, 2025

 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved grandmother, Doreen Brown on March 21, 2025 at the age of 100.

She married the love of her life John Brown on August 29, 1942, and they spent many wonderful years together.

Grandma was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church for very many years.   She was a longtime volunteer with the Herb Bassett Home and the Legion. Having 4 sons, she loved sports, especially hockey and followed the Prince Albert Raiders faithfully.  Camping at Murray Point was also a big part of grandma’s life and she really enjoyed family and friends stopping by.  She loved her crosswords puzzles and word search books, most of the time having one in her hand!

Doreen was predeceased by her parents Annie and Herb Winterburn; her husband, John; her sons Allen, Donald, Herb, and Arnold; her sisters Mildred Moore and Verna Cantin; her brothers Howard, Fred, Bob, Melvin, and Clarence; and her grandsons Donald Jr. and Cory.

A loving and cherished grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Connie (James), Randy (Krista), Brigitte Ferguson (William), Curtis (Rhonda), Byron (Zoe), Deanna (Rob), Trevor (Tanya), Shawn (Janine), and Danny (Tara); numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her daughters-in-law, Trudie, Edna, and Lana; nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Doreen’s life will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28^th Street West, Prince Albert, SK officiated by Pastor Jim Galbraith. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
