Mrs. Donna Guger
April 22, 1938~ April 17, 2021
Donna Lorene Guger (nee Chapman) peacefully passed away on April 17th, 2021 in Prince Albert, SK.
Mom was born on April 22, 1938 in Moose Jaw, SK to Gordon and Hazel Chapman. As a young child Mom moved to Prince Albert, SK. While attending high school at PACI, Mom met the love of her life, Larry Guger. She didn’t realize that they were meant to be together at first. He sat behind her in typing class. He was better at typing then her, and that annoyed her. But it didn’t take her long to realize she loved him. One night at the drive in he proposed to her, and of course she said “Yes!”. Dad joined the Navy and was posted to Victoria, Mom moved there to join him. On December 23, 1957, they got married. After Dad completed his time in the navy, they moved back to Prince Albert. That’s where they had their family – two girls and a boy. Mom loved her children. Mom loved children so much that after her own children were grown, she decided to babysit. There were many children she babysat, however there were two brothers that were very dear to her – Mat and Mitchell. They were like grandsons to her. Eventually she had her own grandson, Keaton. Keaton was Mom’s light, her “special boy”. She was so proud of her children, but nobody was more special then her grandson.
Mom is survived by her children: Laura (Gene), Larry (Erica), Linda (Chris); grandson Keaton; brother Gord (Sharon); nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; life long friends Lynn and Donna; and many other special friends.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Larry and younger brother Johnny.
A special thank you to Ika’s care home, Level 5 palliative care and the dialysis unit at the Victoria Hospital.
A private ceremony will be held for family and friends. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
