MRS. AUDREY TRUBA
It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Truba (Agnew), our loving wife, mother and grandmother on April 24, 2014. Audrey was born June 25, 1950, the youngest of four children born to Russell and Evelyn Agnew at Birch Hills, Sk. She grew up on the family farm near Birch Hills with her parents and siblings. When Audrey graduated from High School she moved to Saskatoon and attended the Marvel School of Beauty. She then returned to Prince Albert to work near her family and friends where she earned her Journeyman’s in Hairdressing. In June of 1970 she met her future husband James, and they were married on March 4, 1972. That year she also met her lifelong friend Lynn Poirier. In the following years her 2 beautiful daughters were born, Kim in 1972 and Jodi in 1976. Mom stayed home and raised her girls until they went to school. She then went to work as receptionist and book keeper at Creative Cuts, later on she was employed at DB`s Beauty Salon for many years. She then decided it was time for a career change and went back to school. Audrey excelled in school and enjoyed her next two years as a Care Aide. In 1996 Audrey opened a home for Mental Health Clients and continued to provide a home and care for them until March of 2014. She thoroughly enjoyed her work with the many clients she had over the years. She loved to spend endless hours in her flower gardens, sitting around the fire or visiting with family & friends. In 1999 She became a Grandma and then dedicated her time and love to her grandson Kieran. Kieran was the sunshine of her life; she was always proud of him and helped him become the young man he is today. She spent every minute she could with him and enjoyed their special time together, talking, laughing, singing and teaching him many things. Camping was a favourite in summer or winter and she enjoyed these getaways to the lakes with her family. Audrey liked to stay busy, be it with her home, family, friends or a project but always made time for everyone who stopped in for coffee and often invited them to stay for supper. She was always there to listen and help in any way she could and passed on many words of wisdom and comfort. Mom had great compassion for everyone and many people she took in or whose hearts and lives she touched still call her “Mom”. Audrey survived a heart attack (2008) and her first battle with cancer (2010) and through it all continued to laugh, love, take care of and help those around her. Audrey is survived by: her husband James Truba; her daughters Kim Truba and Jodi Truba, her grandson Kieran Truba, her best friend Lynn Poirier; her sisters Marion Agnew and Elva Brewster; her brother Lester (Dorothy) Agnew; her brother-in-law and special sister-in-law John and Joan Truba; her sister –in-law Irene Truba; as well as her nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Audrey was predeceased by: her parents Russell (1989) and Evelyn (2006) Agnew; her father and mother-in-Law John (1992) and Sally (2007) Truba; her aunt Dorothy Young (2006); and other family and friends.
