Agnes Brown
April 2, 1933 – February 21, 2025
With great sadness the family of Agnes Brown announce her passing on February 21, 2025 at the age of 91.
Mom was born in Parkside on April 02, 1933 to Magnus and Ingaborg Anderson. In June of that year she was baptised at Immanuel Lutheran Church and in July 1948 confirmed at the same church. She went to school at Hilldrop, helped on the farm in the summer and worked in Saskatoon during the winter.
In 1954 Mom married Marvin Brown and a year later their first son Glen was born followed by Blaine and Leon. After Dads untimely death in 1971, Mom moved us from Canwood to Prince Albert where she spent the next 47 years at her little house on the East Hill. She lived there independently until it became apparent that she could no longer safely live alone. Fortunately she was able to get into Pineview Terrace where she spent her remaining years and was cared for by Nurses and Care Aids, some of which cared for her as if she was their own mother.
Mom took her last breath with us Friday evening February 21 leaving us to join our Dad, her parents and all of her siblings in Heaven where we are sure that she is having a good cup of coffee and maybe just a little glass of wine.
Agnes is survived by her sons and their wives, Glen and Darlene, Blaine and Beatrice, Leon and Dawn; and grandchildren Angela (Marc), Carmen (Daniel), Justin (Andrea), Joshua (Suzette), Jordan (Jennifer), Devon (Olivia), Jenna (Bryce); along with great grandchildren Hayden, Xander, Haley, Samhain, Sara-Lyn, Rebekah, Aurora, Talia, William and Mason. She is also survived by her sisters in law, Fay Brown, Shirley (Sammy) Samek, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Agnes was predeceased by her husband Marvin, her parents Magnus and Ingeborg Anderson, and all of her siblings and their spouses.
Thank You to all of the Home Care workers who helped Mom live independently in her house for as long as she did. Thank You to the staff at Pineview. We know some of you went above and beyond your duties to keep Mom comfortable and happy. Thank You to Pastor Iris for your many treasured visits with Mom and helping us lay her to rest.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Parkside, SK with family interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to Arthritis Society Canada or Immanuel Lutheran Church (Box 66, Parkside, SK, S0J 2A0) would be appreciated.
