SHEWCHUK, Wayne Alfred
December 16, 1951 – January 8, 2024
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wayne Alfred Shewchuk on January 8, 2024. Wayne was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on December 16, 1951 to Jacqueline and Ferdinand Shewchuk. Wayne was the second oldest of four siblings: Cecil, Heather, and Valerie.
His memory survives by his wife of 38 years, Alice (Bourgeault); three children, Stephanie (Cristian Perdomo), Lisa Gaffney (Adam) and Todd; grandchildren Emily and Keira.
He leaves behind two daughters, Jennifer and Sherry Jaspar; grandchildren Danika Johnston (Kevin), Melissa (Kyle Savoie), Kylor, Brielle, and Keaton; great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Lucas, and Rylan.
He leaves behind his siblings Cecil (Pam), Heather Chester (Don), and Valerie Schneider, and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne lived in Prince Albert his whole life. He enjoyed sports (an avid Raiders fan) and was a true outdoorsman. He loved cooking, barbequing, gardening and enjoyed spending time at the lake. He loved to make people laugh, and was a good story teller. He was always supporting his friends, neighbours, and community. He served in Corrections for 31 years. He was a very loving, kind, outgoing man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and will be missed greatly.
The Memorial Service will be held on March 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Grays Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert.
