TERRENCE DOUGLAS DESCHNER
1940 – 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Terrence Douglas Deschner announces his passing. He passed away at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the age of 81. We deeply miss our dad but we are so incredibly grateful for the time we had with him. Terry’s current residence was at Emma Lake, SK.
Our dad was kind and generous to everyone. Family, friends, coworkers, customers and anyone he just met. He worked his entire life in Sales (primarily in wholesale and produce). He was a great dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and son. He loved his family wholly and without question. He would always be there for anyone. He would want us all to remember him with friendship and love not sadness.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Dorothy in June 1979 and Anton (Tony) in June 1989 as well as his brother-in-law Doug Bonin in February 2021. Left to mourn his passing are his 2 children Shelly Kolb (Greg) and Dale Deschner (Mari-Angela); his 4 grandchildren Ryan, Brittney, Natasha and Serena; his great-grandchildren Abigail and Oliver; his sister Jean Bonin and brother Bob (Judy); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Terry was born on February 1, 1940 in Prince Albert, SK. Terry married Emma Mydland in 1963 and lived in Melfort, Spruce Home, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon. They were divorced in 2003 and remained friends to the end when Emma passed away in 2017. His beloved poodle Chelcia (pictured) passed away in November 2008.
Terry enjoyed antique cars and owned a multitude of vehicles over the years. He also enjoyed watching Nascar races, stock car races, hockey (NHL & WHL) and football (especially the Saskatchewan Roughriders). He had a group of lake community friends who were always there for him. Terry’s family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them.
At Terry’s request, there will not be a memorial service or interment. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations in Terry’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Saskatchewan Branch at https://www.cancer.ca/en/donate/?region=sk. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
