Mr. Raymond Jutras
1941 – 2024
*SERVICE DETAILS UPDATE*
Pierre Raymond “Ray” was born to Pierre and Ellen Jutras on May 2, 1941, and passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, at the Rose Garden Hospice with his family by his side, and now rests in God’s loving arms.
Ray’s memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 59 years, Helen; his children Shauna (Curtis) Hubel and Chris Jutras; his grandchildren Michael and Sara Hubel, and Gabrielle Jutras. His siblings Dan Jutras, Ruth Pascut, Claude (Brenda) Jutras; brother-in-law George (Suzette) Linger and sister-in-law Debbie Smith, numerous nieces and nephews and several extended families. He was pre-deceased by his parents Pierre and Ellen, granddaughter Cassandra Hubel, in-laws Joe and Mary Linger, sister-in-law Wendy Jutras, and brothers-in-law Dennis Pascut and Melvin Smith.
Ray’s teaching career began in Beauval. After receiving his B.A/B.Ed. he taught at St. Mary’s High School before venturing to La Ronge where he taught math at Pre Cambrian and Churchill High Schools until he retired in 1996. Ray was well liked by fellow staff and students alike and was known to his students as Mr. J. When asked who their favorite teacher was, they would without hesitation, say “ Mr. J.”.
Ray loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. He spent many enthusiastic hours making unforgettable memories with his children and eventually his grandchildren. Camping, playing mini-golf, paddle boating, canoeing and many bike rides always ending with a stop for a large ice cream treat. As a cook he was famous for his Shepherd’s Pie.
Ray was a kind, compassionate man whom everyone immediately felt comfortable being around and talking to. He would always lend a helping hand, whether he had the time or not, he made time! His enormous hugs and contagious laugh were loved by all. Ray was an avid golfer, anxiously waiting for the arrival of the next golf season and course opening.
Ray was a true Prince Albert Raider fan. He wasn’t able to attend games this past year, but listened to every pre- and post-game show and watched all the games on TV. He enjoyed being a billet Dad for four years.
The family would like to thank Dr. N. Painter for his kindness and dedication to Ray during his entire journey. Ray would never agree to any medical change or treatment unless he talked to Dr. Painter first. Your care and attention to Ray were appreciated more than we can convey. Thank you also to Prince Albert Home Care and Rose Garden Hospice for your compassion and thoughtfulness while he was in your care.
The family asks that donations in Ray’s memory be made to a charity of your choice.
