Murdo is survived by his loving wife, Murdeen Maclean, whom he married in 1972. Shortly afterwards they moved to Prince Albert, SK, Canada. He is also survived by his sons: Angus Maclean, and Iain (Bonnie nee Edwards) Maclean; and his cherished grandchildren, Bennett and Brooke Maclean. Sisters: Joan (Renato) Cristiano of Pozzuoli Italy, Rosanna (Walter) Fraser of Glasgow Scotland, Margaret ‘Bebe’ Gilmour of Saskatoon; brother: KennyAlec (Cathy) Maclean of Stornoway Scotland; and many nieces and nephews. Murdo was predeceased by his parents, Angus and Mhairi Maclean (nee Mackenzie) and brother in law Dr George Gilmour.
Murdo started his professional journey in 1962 as an apprentice carpenter with M.J. MacArthur in Stornaway Scotland. After obtaining his journeymen credentials he worked on many projects in both the United Kingdom and Canada before joining the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in 1989. After a long, rewarding career, he retired from the Penitentiary in 2015. Apart from his professional endeavours Murdo enjoyed a life filled with hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, as well as nights spent at his lathe turning bowls. He was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends and neighbours.
Our family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Gordon Surkan of Prince Albert, and the staff and physicians of Parkridge Center in Saskatoon for their exemplary care.
