Gerard “Jerry” Watier
September 4, 1922 ~ August 8, 2021
Gerard Serge Watier was born September 4, 1922 in Marcelin, SK to Edward Watier and Mary (Fournier) Watier. In the evening of August 8, 2021, Jerry passed away at the Shellbrook Care Home, Shellbrook, SK.
Jerry is survived by six of his eight children: Margaret Watier Chobotar of Canora, SK, Gary (Diane) of Canora, SK, Ron (Rhonda) of Warman, SK, Lionel (Colette) of St. Albert, AB, Neil of Shellbrook, SK, Carol (Bob) Waters of Saskatoon, SK; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister Cecile Delisle of Williams Lake, BC; brother-in- law Leo Godin; two sisters-in-law Terry and Nettie; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Jerry was predeceased by his second wife Armancia Joubert; two daughters Mary Jean at infancy and Shirley at the age of 48 years; and two grandchildren Lorena and Leonard.
Jerry met in his later years and married his second wife, Armancia Joubert. He enjoyed working with his hands and was well known for his excellence in stucco work, passing on his trade to his sons. He enjoyed carpentry and tried his hand at logging, but it was not for him. Jerry was the happiest when working. He loved his garden and tending to his yard. Also going fishing when he could. He will never be forgotten for the many pranks and practical jokes he enjoyed pulling on family and friends. Jerry will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
At Jerry’s, request no formal service will be held. Interment will take place at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
