BRIAN ISABELLE
DECEMBER 2, 1948 ~ AUGUST 12, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Brian Isabelle announce his passing on August 12, 2020 in Humboldt, SK at the Humboldt District Health Complex.
Brian was born in Qu’Appelle, SK on December 2, 1948 to Rodolphe and Mable Isabelle. He joined army reserves in 1964 served until 1968. Brian and Selena were high school sweethearts, and married on September 30, 1967 in Qu’Appelle at the Roman Catholic Church. To this union three children were born: Jeannie, Julie, and his son Jared. Brian kept busy in various jobs like trucking, worked for the highways eventually joining Sasktel where he took early retirement in 2001. This moved the family a little from his home in Qu’Appelle to Regina in 1968, to Meath Park in 1977 and onto their acreage in 1996. During the years, his knowledge of growing up farming allowed him to farm his land while working full time for Sasktel. Even after retirement he continued to keep busy with various mechanical work and crop adjustment. Brian continued to use his mechanical journeyman ticket for farming equipment, odd jobs and, lastly, his hobby for boats and engines. Brian loved children, laughing, and joking, and when a position came up for a bus driver for the local school in Meath Park, he decided to keep himself busy with driving but finally retired in 2016. He loved spending countless hours with his family, especially his eight grandchildren, fishing, boating, tinkering in the shop, or watching a movie; as long as family was near, Brian had a gleam in his eye.
During his years at Meath Park Brian did a term as councilman, a volunteer fireman, assisted in fundraising and building the arena. Brian was always lending a helping hand and one of the families most endearing memory is of him helping out stranded people/families during the many blizzards of their youth, there was always someone sleeping over on the floor. Brian had a voice that was recognizable anywhere and was known for his loud engaging laugh and his memory of people. He never forgot a face or name.
Brian is survived by his wife, Selena (Quiding) Isabelle; children: Jeannie (Calvin) Lukan, Julie (Jason) Grund, Jared (Nicole) Isabelle; eight grandchildren: Tessa Grund, Tanner Grund, Carissa Lukan, Jessica Lukan, Michaela Lukan, Seth Beaulac-Ray, Kaiden Isabelle, and Maddex Isabelle, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Brian was predeceased by his parents: Rodolphe and Mable Isabelle, Arthur and Nellie Quiding; siblings-in-law: Don Bryanton, Florence & Barry Robinson, Ernie Downton, Mervyn Quiding, Fred Sorsdahl, and Don Bell; niece Tracey Quiding, nephew Jordan Sorsdahl, close friends Tony Kuzyk and Garry Garisson and Maggie, his loving dog.
