Mr. Andrew Ksyniuk, age 87, beloved husband of Mrs. Helen Ksyniuk of Prince Albert, SK passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 10 at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church, 752 – 14 Street West. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 11 at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church by the Reverend Father Ivan Nahachewsky. Andrew is survived by his loving family: his wife Helen (nee Harach); his children Victor of Calgary, AB, Peter (Denise) of MacDowall, Dale (Laurie) of Prince Albert, Robert (Sue) of Nanaimo, BC, Perry (Marilyn) Prince Albert and Richard (Kathleen) of Medicine Hat, AB; his grandchildren Erin (Kevin) Lysak and great-grandsons Carter and Matthew, Ryan Ksyniuk, Matthew (Heather) Ksyniuk, Jillian (Scott) Sawyshyn and great-granddaughter Julia, Troy (Susana) Ksyniuk and great-grandson Julian, Kelli Ksyniuk, Luke Ksyniuk, Samara Ksyniuk and Marec Ksyniuk. He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Alexandra (nee Druczenski) Ksyniuk; his sisters Katie Eschyshyn and Stella Scharkowski and his brother Thomas Ksyniuk. Andrew was born on December 13, 1925 in Sulemia, Poland and immigrated to Canada at the age 2 ½ years old. The family settled in the Shell Lake district and in 1942 moved to MacDowall and farmed until 2000. Andrew enjoyed fishing and playing a good game of Kaiser. Fishing would have been his favorite hobby at Candle Lake especially after having purchased property in 1987. Andrew and Helen enjoyed many trips to Mexico and the southern United States. He especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting activities. Interment will take place in the Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
