Mike Rybka
It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Rybka announces the passing of their beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mike passed away peacefully on February 7, 2012 in Prince Albert, SK just days short of his 97th birthday. He was the 8th of 11 children born to Marcin and Maria Rybka in Hafford, SK. Mike moved with his parents to the Prince Albert area where he grew up and later spent his life farming in the Cecil and Colleston areas. In 1953 he married the love of his life Marie Yvonne Gudelot. He was also a bus driver for the Rural School Unit #56, a bee inspector, and was instrumental in bringing power to the rural areas. Mike is survived by his three sons; Michael J. Rybka; Paul and Tina (Otte) Rybka and their four children Aaron (Nicole Rayner) Rybka (great-grandchildren Alexcia, Skye and Rowan), Michelle Rybka, Marissa Rybka, and Adam Rybka; Mark and Pauline (Legrow) Rybka and their two children Xander and Salem Rybka; one brother Martin (Carol) Rybka; sister-in-law May Gudelot and many, many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his wife Marie and his infant son John David; his parents Marcin and Maria Rybka; father-in-law Adolph Gudelot; his siblings and their spouses: John (Mabel) Rybka, Julia (Frank) Siwak, Joseph (Lily) Rybka, Walter (Annie) Rybka, Wanda (George) Nykiforuk, Nellie (Frank) Gondek, Helen (Bruno) Zbesheski, Mary (Allan) Zembik and Annie (Allan) Antipovich; sister-in-law Laura Gudelot and brothers-in-law Gabriel (Gibb) Gudelot and George Gudelot.
The family would like to thank Dr. C. Elmer and the wonderful staff at the Herb Basset Home for the amazing care and especially the friendship they showed dad while he lived there. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West with Adam Siwak officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Herb Bassett Nursing Home, 1220 – 25th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 4N9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
