With sadness in their hearts, but deep thanksgiving for a beautiful life lived, the family of Mike Kindrachuk announces his peaceful passing on Friday, June 19, 2026.
From an early age, Mike discovered a lifelong passion for sports, excelling in hockey, soccer, and fastball. His athletic journeys took him across the country, from riding the train with his soccer team to play at the 1967 Expo in Montreal, to competing in Halifax during his late teens. A true local legend, Mike was one of the original Prince Albert Raiders when the franchise joined the SJHL, famously securing his place as the league’s leading scorer during the 1972-73 season. When he wasn’t on the ice or the soccer pitch, he could be found on the fastball diamond, playing for numerous teams, and eventually wrapping up his competitive career with the Senior Men’s Alcann team.
In 1977, Mike began an outstanding 44-year career with PA Bottlers. Over more than four decades, his warmth and integrity allowed him to build lasting friendships with co-workers and clients alike. It was also through this career that he met the absolute love of his life, Debbie Hotzak.
Mike and Debbie were married 35 years ago, building a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, and hard work. Together, they transformed a simple piece of land into their dream home. Mike took immense pride in their yard, finding true contentment in the simple pleasures of cutting the grass, sitting on the deck, watching the local deer, and taking in the breathtaking Saskatchewan sunsets.
Out of this deep love came Mike’s greatest source of pride: their son, Cameron. Whenever Mike spoke of Cameron, his face lit up and he swelled with pride. He cherished the years spent taking Cameron to soccer, football, and any sport Cam pursued, and he loved sharing every one of his son’s successes and accomplishments. Recently, Mike was filled with joy to tell everyone that Cameron was getting married, eagerly welcoming his future daughter-in-law, Shaylin, into the family. He was further overjoyed by the recent news that he was to become a grandfather to a baby boy.
Mike is at peace now. In keeping with his wishes, a private family service will be held. He did not want those he loved to mourn his death, but rather to celebrate his life. His family asks that you honour his memory by laughing, sharing your favourite stories, and remembering the good times.
