Michael ”Mike” Maruschak
1935 – 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend, Michael “Mike” Vincent Maruschak, late of Prince Albert, SK at the age of 77 years. Mike’s battle with cancer ended suddenly with his family by his side on the morning of October 8, 2013. Mike will be deeply missed by his loving wife Helen of 46 years; daughter Cathy (Robin Humm); son Duane (Patricia Bergen) his grandchildren Skye, Jake and Grace; his sister Kate (Floyd) Stauffer and by many extended family members and close friends. He was predeceased by his oldest son Bobby; his parents Nikoli and Honorata Maruszczak; his brothers Tony and Frank; as well as his mother-in-law Eva (Mischuk) Toporowski and father and mother-in-law Harry and Victoria Toporowski. Mike was a kind, sociable man with a huge heart. He was an avid story teller, comedian, enjoyed watching sports of all kinds as well as hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was an excellent heavy equipment operator who enjoyed working, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. In Mike’s last days he brought comfort to his family by telling them, “I have no worries, no regrets, and I had a great life!” The family would like to thank the medical professionals of the intensive care unit at the Victoria Hospital for all of the good care and kindness shown towards Mike and his family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 65 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9.
