(January 15, 1932 – October 22, 2011)
Mr. Michael “Mike” Antoshewski, late of Prince Albert, passed away at the Victoria Union Hospital on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the age of 79 years.
Michael was born in Taurow, Poland on January 15, 1932 to Ferdynand “Fred” and Eugenia “Jean” (nee Humenny) Antoshewski. He emigrated to Canada with his parents in 1938 at the age of 6, and the family settled in Silver MB. In 1944 they moved to Weirdale SK, where Michael attended Weirdale School. Shortly after graduating, Michael moved to Gimli, MB where he worked at the local mine.
Several years later, Michael moved to Edmonton AB, where he worked as a courier. During that time, he met his wife Anne. They married in 1967, settled at the farm in Weirdale, raised three children, and farmed until retiring and moving to Prince Albert in 2004. In 1978, Michael and Anne took the family for a wonderful trip to England and Scotland. In 1998, Michael and Anne went on a trip to Europe, visiting such places as London, Rome and Paris.
Michael was a devoted husband, a caring father, a wonderful grandfather, and a supportive father-in-law. His family always came first. Michael took pride in everything that he did, from farming to working in his beloved garden. He also enjoyed relaxing on the couch with a good book.
