Melvin Samuel Powder “Coyote” was born on Saturday, January 5, 1965, in Fort Smith, N.W.T, and passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2020, in Pine Creek, SK (Mushroom Camp), at the age of 54 years. Melvin is remembered by his loving family, his wife, Lisa Powder “Bertha”; his daughters, Gail Bradfield (Bernie Half), Destiny Bradfield (Ronald Ross), Acotia Bradfield; his godchildren, Denny James Bradfield, Kimberley Rita Powder; his brothers, Donald (Bernice) Powder, Saskatoon, SK, Daniel (Alice) Powder, Stoney Rapids, SK, Peter (Tracey) Powder, La Ronge, SK, Kevin Waniandy; his sisters, Gloria (Victor) Dufresne, La Ronge, SK, Julia (Rick) Laboucan, La Ronge, SK, Virginia Powder, Calgary, AB; his aunts, Mary Stenne, Irene Waniandy; his uncle, Dave Powder; his name sake, Lawrence “Melvin” Laboucan; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Victoria (Seewepegaham) Powder; his father, Eric Powder; his brother, Dennis Powder; his mother-in-law, Beatrice Bradfield; his aunts, Regina Shott, Nora Powder; his uncles, John Powder, Mike Powder. The Wake Service for Melvin will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at Kitsaki Hall, in La Ronge, SK; the Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, January 20, 2020, at All Saints Anglican Church, in La Ronge, SK, Tom Sanderson, Edna Mirasty, and James Eninew officiating.
