Melvin Osmundson

Melvin Knut Osmundson, late of Paddockwood, SK, passed away on October 2, 2023, at the age of 79 years. Melvin was born on July 2, 1944, to Hannah and Osmund Osmundson. He spent his early years in Birch Hills and Prince Albert areas. After school he completed his Journeyman Welder training in Moose Jaw. He worked in many places across the western part of Canada. In 1965, he married Geraldine “Gerry” Lowe and they started their life together in the Vancouver area. Lee was born in 1970 and Cory in 1973. In 1974, the move was made back to Saskatchewan to buy a farm. Mel continued working as a welder, spending many years with Cameco at Key Lake and the farm increased as well. A medical issue in 1999 stopped his welding career and he concentrated on the farm. He retired from farming in 2015, continuing to live on the farm.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Gerry; his son Lee (Aimee) and children Aliviah, Oliver, and step-son Cale Bueckert; his son, Cory (Jodie) and children, Reese and Kate. He was predeceased by his parents, Hannah and Osmund Osmundson; and his parents-in-law, Bay and Anne Lowe.
