Pearl Mary Elizabeth “May” Hoko
1944-2022
May passed away following a brief illness on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Victoria Hospital. She was born the youngest of 16 children to Tom and Beatrice Sinclair. May was raised on the farm in the Clouston district. She married William Hoko and together they were blessed with the birth of their children Bill and Cathy. Tragically Bill passed away far too young, in June of 1977, leaving May to raise the children. May spent her career waitressing, retiring after over 20 years from Zellers Restaurant. In her spare time, she enjoyed Bingo, regardless of if it was in person at Downtown Bingo or in the comfort of her home playing Radio Bingo with her grandchildren.
May is survived by her son, Bill (Cindy) Hoko and their family Kaylee, Kieron, and Kiana; her daughter Cathy (Leland) Remy and their family, Kaitlyn (Zach), and Carson (Taylor); her siblings Hazel Parenteau, and Larry (Marlene) Sinclair; her brother-in-law Mike Hoko, her special nephew Wayne Parenteau, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. May was predeceased by an infant daughter Annie Lynn; husband William; parents Tom and Beatrice Sinclair; brothers, Leslie, Raymond, Hubert, Wilfred, Kenneth, Vernon, Stewart, George, Barry, and Bruce; sisters, Vera Tripp, Marlene Herman, and Myrtle Penner; sister- in-law Rose Hoko.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at South Hill Cemetery. Friends are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
