Maurice was born near Debden, SK in 1960 to parents Lawrence and Madeleine Collins. They soon after moved to Victoire, SK in 1966. Maurice began his career at about 16 years of age. He then met the love of his life Janine Herdman when he was 21 and she was 18. They married on May 28, 1983, while residing in the town of Debden, SK. They had their 1st child Pamela in 1986 followed by Tanya in 1988, Jordan in 1990, and Tessa in 1992. Maurice spent his earlier years working at the Big River Sawmill, and after the closure of the mill he had various positions, but one notable was the time he spent in his trucking business. Maurice and Janice then relocated to the Collins family home in Victoire, SK, where they carried out the remaining time of raising the family. Maurice had 12 grandchildren who were truly his pride and joy.

Maurice is survived by his children Pamela (Andy), Tanya, Jordan (Ashley), and Tessa (Avery); grandchildren Mackenzie, Presley, Jared, Amara, Beckett, Cooper, Bentley, Kayden, Alex, Aubree, Zaylah, and Zekiel; his siblings Tom (Cecile), Hubert (Lynn), Allan (Sylvia), Richard (Serena), and Estelle (Glen); Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Madeleine; brother Phillip; father-in-law Robert; and brother-in-law Curt.

In lieu of tributes, donations may be made in memory of Maurice to the MS Society (150 Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2N2).
