It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Maurice Paul Huet on August 12, 2026, in Valleyview, Alberta, at the age of 82. Maurice was born on February 2, 1944, in Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan, to Noella and Andre Huet.

Maurice was a husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather. Family was at the heart of Maurice’s life, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.

Maurice enjoyed the simple things in life. He could often be found playing crib, golfing, fishing, camping, or tending to his garden. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.

His working years included operating heavy equipment, working in the oilfield, and carpentry. He was a man who wasn’t afraid of hard work and could be counted on to lend a helping hand.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Valleyview Long Term Care for the care, kindness, and compassion they showed Maurice throughout his stay. Their support and dedication meant so much to Maurice and his family.

Maurice will be deeply missed by his family and many dear friends. His memory will live on in the stories shared and the lessons passed down.

May he rest peacefully, forever loved and never forgotten.
