Maurice was born to Laurier and Iris (nee Altice) Masserey and spent his life at the family farm in White Star, Saskatchewan. He began his education in a one-room schoolhouse in White star and graduated grade 12 from Prince Albert Composite High School in 1975. He delivered packages on a temporary basis before becoming a full-time letter carrier for the Post Office. He retired in 2012 after 32 years of service. He worked a variety of jobs in retirement, all active and outside. He played hockey and baseball in his younger days and had a great many friends in the area. Maurice was always generous with his time. He could always be counted on to help out family, friends and co-workers with anything that needed an extra hand. He loved to travel and visited many places. The highlight was a 3-month photo-safari in Africa. Maurice was well-loved and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his sister Deborah Ashe, his brother Lyle Masserey niece Penny Peterson, nephews Ben Ashe, Terry Masserey, Brody Masserey, and numerous great-nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his father, mother and brother Charles.
A private celebration will be held at a later date.
