Mary Moskal was born April 5, 1920 in Ratner, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully February 13, 2015 in Melfort, Saskatchewan at the age of 94. Family and education were very important in Mary’s life. She was very proud that all her children completed grade 12 and went on to university. As the grandchildren and great grandchildren arrived everyone looked forward to coming to Baba’s house for perogies and fresh peas and other produce that grew in the garden. Mary’s huge garden provided vegetables for her family, friends, neighbors and plenty was left over to sell at the Farmer’s market. She was the happiest when knitting afghans for her grandchildren, reading or clipping articles that she thought someone in the family would enjoy. Mary and Harry had seven children, five sons: Ronald (RoseAnne), Allan (Melody), Daniel (Ruby), Walter (Patricia) and Martin and two daughters: Patricia (Peter) Murray and Theresa (Brian) Milne. They also have fourteen grandchildren. The five grandsons are Jonathon (Ronald), Trent, Stacey (Allan), Adrian (Daniel), and Kristopher (Walter). The nine granddaughters are: Angela, Janis (Ronald), Penny, Jillian, Jennifer (Daniel), Lisa (Walter), Janell, Pamela (Patricia), and Shelby (Theresa). The number of great grandchildren totals nineteen so far. Mary also leaves to mourn her sisters Kay Shwetz, Anne Sturby, Verna (Peter) Ewanus, Madeline Danyluk, brothers Jacob Sturby, Michael (Marg) Sturby and brother-in-law Gene Levitsky. Mary was predeceased by her parents Sam and Victoria Sturby, her husband Harry, her two sons Allan and Martin, two brothers Peter and Joseph Sturby and one sister Lecia Levitsky, brothers-in-law Joseph Shwetz, Steve Danyluk and sisters-in-law Stephania Sturby, Nydia Sturby and Caroline Sturby.
