Mary Lou King
1958-2020
It is with heavy hearts, the family of Mary Lou King announce her passing.
Mary Lou was born August 13, 1958 in Saskatoon. She was the 4th born child of 6 to Walter and Genevieve King. She grew up in Saskatoon and attended school there.
She was married and was gifted with two loving sons, Michael in 1980 and Matthew in 1983. They lived in Saskatoon until 1989 at which time they moved to Prince Albert.
Mary Lou worked in many places after coming to Prince Albert. She worked at a hair salon, then went back to school to learn how to keep the books for her brother Albert at AK Auto Body. Her main job there was to keep everyone in the shop in line which she did very well. After she left the body shop, she worked in retail then at Pineland Homecare. She worked there for many years. When Pineland Home Care closed, she worked for the health region until health concerns wouldn’t allow her to maintain full time employment.
In the last few years, Mary Lou lived with great friends and her dogs Tico and now Purdy at Mitchell Place.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents Walter and Genevieve, her sister in law Wendy and a daughter in law Andrea.
She is survived and loved by her son Michael Hallam and his wife Heather and their children Parker and Emma. As well as her son Matthew Hallam and his wife Jackie and his son Zach and her children Mason, Meyer and Veneece.
She is also survived by her brother and keeper Albert and his wife Anne King, her sister Colleen and her husband Wayne Dech, her brother Chuck and his wife Kathy King, her brother Larry King, and her sister Pam and her husband John McLuskey. As well, she is survived by many nieces and nephews that loved their “Aunty Lou” dearly.
There will be a Celebration of Mary Lou’s Life at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 9th, 2020 at St. Davids Anglican Church, 500 24th Street East Prince Albert, SK with Rev. Rick Reed officiating. Private family interment will follow. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 5T4.
