MARY “LEONA” BOYER The families of the late Mary “Leona” Boyer (Granny) sadly announces her death which occurred peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2010 surrounded by family. Leona was born in Hosmer, BC on October 22, 1909. She moved with her family to St. Louis when she was 5 years old. There she attended school, worked and met Robert James Boyer, her husband of 54 years. Mom and Dad moved to Prince Albert in 1952. Mom had varied employment opportunities, but her greatest roles were as wife and mother. She loved to have family and friends come to visit and she welcomed any occasion to celebrate. She will be remembered for her baking and her needlework, both of which she willingly shared. She will also be remembered for her generosity, her hospitality and her accepting nature. Leona was predeceased by her husband Robert; her son Bob; her son-in-law Ulrick McDougall; her granddaughter Valerie (McDougall) Rabut; her granddaughter Lorraine (McDougall) Gareau and her husband Reg Gareau; her great-granddaughter Shelley Gareau; her great-grandson Devon McDougall and her grandson-in-law Laird Parenteau. Mom is survived by her loving family: her children Sophia (Ulrick deceased) McDougall, Marie (Jim) Delorme, Priscilla (William) Tomporowski, Ann (McGuinness) (Bob deceased) Boyer and Gloria (Dennis) Dorgan; her twenty grandchildren; her forty-four great-grandchildren; her nineteen great-great-grandchildren as well as many loving nieces, nephews and numerous dear friends. Thank you Mom for your love and guidance. We celebrate your 101 years. We have been blessed! Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7 from Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 – 4th Avenue West by Father Maurice Fiolleau. Interment will take place in the Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family's request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
