Mary Kacher
(October 13, 1916 – Augsut 22, 2011)
Mary Kacher (nee Krĕcjci), beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She lost her battle with pneumonia at the Shellbrook Hospital on Monday, August 22, 2011 in her 95th year.
Mary was born in Poland on October 13, 1916. On September 16, 1934, she married Joseph Kacher and in 1939 they immigrated to Canada with three children. Together they broke and cleared their land near Paddockwood and to this day the homestead is still located there for family and future generations to enjoy. She cared for her family in a loving and nurturing manner, instilling strong values in each of them, which they carry with them today.
Mary was very resourceful making her family feel they did not do without. She enjoyed and took pride in her flower and vegetable gardens. There were always rows and rows of preserves for the upcoming winter and she would always say “we may need it next year”. Mary’s cooking and baking was second to none and there was always a place set for whoever dropped by. She was a very generous person and she made sure her family took something home after visiting.
Mary will be lovingly missed by her son Joe; her daughter Mary (Walter) Havlicek & their children Barb, Betty and Beverley; her son William (Jane) & their children Heather and Shannon; her daughter Helen (Jim) Bedford & their children Debbie and Darren; her son Ross (Helen’s twin); her son Jerry (Louise); her son Edward (Irene); her daughter Olga (George) Allen & their children Craig and Sharlene; her daughter Anne Borrowman (Carl Stochmanski) & her son Tyler and his father Bob Borrowman; her daughter-in-law Jo & her children Darryl and Marnie; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; her sons Walter and Morris and her grandsons Jeffrey and Zane Kacher and Bill Havlicek.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Doug Schmirler officiating.
