The family is sad to announce the passing of Mary Anne Fietz (nee Robertson) on July 6, 2024.
Mary was a remarkable soul who embraced life with hard work, tended to her garden with love and found solace in the pages of books. Her unwavering devotion to her family illuminated every corner of her existence. Mary was born on June 4, 1949, in Prince Albert, SK. Mary loved that she was able to live on the family property most of her life. Mary married the children’s father, Arthur Fietz in 1964. The birth of her children followed with Frank, Marti, Aly and little Betty. Mary and her family lived in Alberta and British Columbia when the children were younger. Mary was a hard worker whether she was working in the sugar beets or filling any position to provide for her family. She enjoyed her time in British Columbia as she was able to spend lots of time with her brother Dave and his family. Mary moved back to Saskatchewan and continued raising her children on her own, doing all she could to provide them with a loving home.
Mary’s career went towards the lakes and campgrounds working for the DNR until she had to leave the job due to a work injury. She loved her job as she was able to work with one of her best friends, Evelyn. Mary met her soulmate Tiny (Lawrence Vandale) and enjoyed a beautiful life with him until his death in 2006. Mary was a strong woman, enduring the loss of Tiny and her beautiful daughter Betty. But she continued to prevail and live life as full as she could until her passing.
Mary leaves to mourn her loss, her children Frank Fietz, Marti Fietz, Aly (Sheri) Fietz; her grandchildren Shantelle (Dominic), Tannis, Ethan, Michael (Kaitlyn), Austin, D.J, Destin, Jessica, Lindsay; her great-grandchildren Mya, Kaleb, Althea, Alexis, Deanne, Mackenzie, Baby A.J., Liam, Denali, Dominic, Lachlan; her siblings Vicky, Austin, Ethel and Jim; sister-in-law Delores Robertson; her best friends Evelyn and Betty; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary is predeceased by her soulmate Tiny; daughter Betty; sister Leona; brother Dave; brothers-in-law Henry Holland, Beverly Gee and Iven Gee; sister-in-law Eunice Robertson; her parents Martha and Austin Robertson; nieces Terry Robertson, Shirley Robertson, Marie Ratcliffe; nephew Robbie Benvenuti.
