Mary Dowhay
1931 ~ 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Dowhay, a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, who peacefully left us on March 21, 2025. Mom lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and hard work, finding joy in the simple pleasures of farm life.

As a proud farm wife, she embraced every season with grace and dedication, from tending to the farm animals, to caring for her family with an unwavering spirit. Her kitchen was always filled with the warmth of home-cooked meals, and her love for her large gardens and exceptional canning which brought nourishment and comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share her bounty.

Above all, Mom cherished her family endlessly.

She was the heart of her home, always ready with a smile, a listening ear, and a heart full of love.  Her legacy of care, love, and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Mom is survived by her children, Betty (David), Dianne, Brian (Lynn), Barry (Shelley), Douglas (Debbie) Donna (Doug); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Jennie.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, Nellie & Frank; her husband, Alex; her brothers, John & Walter; sister, Josie; her mother & father-in-law, Paraska & Stephan; step father-in-law, George; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Olga, Mary; and brothers-in-law, Fred, Adolph and James.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday March 27, 2025, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Mary’s honor.

We would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Good Shepherd Villas for their heartfelt care and kindness during Mom’s stay.

We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in heaven, surrounded by love as she was throughout her life and reunited with Dad.
