Mary Cal, wife of the late Joseph Cal of Meath Park District passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the age of 85 years. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 20 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Pastor Dennis Serfas will officiate. Mary lived a full life, enjoying farming, gardening, crocheting, knitting, cross stitching and most of all playing Kaiser and socializing with friends and family. She was a dedicated, loving, caring and thoughtful wife, sister, aunt and friend to all who came into her life. Although Mary had no children of her own she was surrounded by other people’s children and loved having small ones around. Mary loved to cook and have company. She believed in family values and the meaning of hard work. She was a true pioneer in every sense of the word. Mary is survived by her sisters and brothers Anne Elliott, Steve (Queenie) Hrenyk, Rachel (Lloyd) Gunderson, Alvin (Arlene) Hrenyk, Helen Vera, Vicki Hrenyk, Walter Hrenyk; her sisters-in-law Olga Hrenyk, Mary Manchuk and husband John; numerous nieces and nephews and families; her special friends Lawrence and Debbi Hydamacka and their children Michelle Hydamacka (Darrin), Melanie and Eddy Bonilla and children, Matthew, Madison and Arden, Michael and Jody Hydamacka. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Cal; her parents Tom and Tillie Hrenyk; her mother and father-in-law John and Annie Cal; her sister-in-law Katie Bialic and husband Stanley; her sister-in-law Polly Mastruk and husband Paul and their son Gerry and daughter Mae; her brothers Jack Hrenyk, John Hrenyk, Paul (Mary) Hrenyk; her brothers-in-law George Elliott, Walter Vera. Donations can be made to the Herb Bassett Care Home in Mary’s Memory. Interment will take place in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount of Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
