Mary Alice Wright
December 18, 1918 – March 3, 2014
It is with loving memories and heavy hearts that family announce Mary’s peaceful passing at the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert, SK on March 3, 2014 at the age of 95 years. Mary is survived by her 4 children, Margaret (Michael), Denis (Beatrice), Maureen (Ron) and Wayne; her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Brian (Bertha); her husband Jim who passed away February 21, 2009, they were married 65 years. Mary farmed alongside her husband for over 40 years in the Paddockwood district and continued to live there until the fall of 2010 before moving to the Herb Bassett Home. She embraced all the hard working provisions that came with farm life; baking, canning, gardening and working at dad’s side while raising her children. Mom was a caring and compassionate person where her family was the centre of her life. She was a gifted knitter and seamstress who created numerous items for literally hundreds of people over the years. Knitting was her passion in her golden years. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her smile that lit up her face and her unique witty sense of humour. She leaves behind her greatest legacy in the lives of her children. We will miss you mom, you leave quite an empty space in our lives, when we meet again we will be sure to bring flowers. There will be a Graveside Service for family at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to a Charity of Donor’s Choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director (306-922-4729).
