Marvin Lloyd Betker
October 25, 1952 – January 27, 2019
The family of Marvin Betker are brokenhearted to announce that he passed away suddenly on January 27, 2019 at his home. Marvin was born on October 25, 1952 at Shellbrook, SK to Rudolph and Lucy (nee: Crawford) Betker. He lived and farmed with his two brothers and mother on the family farm for many years after Rudolph passed away. Then he carried on farming after they passed away. He was still doing what he loved.
Marvin loved all animals, especially his cattle. He was named Saler Commercial Breeder of the year in 2013. He enjoyed family, reading, sports and fishing.
Marvin carried on the family tradition of being a good neighbour. He would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone however he could. He is missed and remembered by: his sisters, Judy Jordan (Rick Maines) and Brenda Betker (Les Jessop); his nephew, Chris Jordan; his niece, Haley (Tom) Flemington and his great nephew, Zack Flemington; his brother-in-law, David Dawson; his friends and best neighbours ever, Carol Murray and Bill and Eileen Dobson as well as other family and friends.
Marvin was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph and Lucy Betker; his brothers, Maurice and Roy Betker; his sister, Gloria Dawson and an infant sister as well as other relatives.
A memorial service for Marvin will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Marvin may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Avenue #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
