With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marlene Fern Gotell (née McLachlan), who died peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Montague, Prince Edward Island, just two days after her 68th birthday.

Marlene was born on June 26, 1957, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She was a loving best friend to Dan Gotell. She was the proud mother of Fern ,Kate (Tim Rogers), and Somnia and the loving grandmother of McPhee, Oliver, Marlayna, Henri, Mallory and Penny.

Throughout her life, Marlene worked with compassion and tireless dedication to help others find their way and better themselves. She touched countless lives, offering support, guidance, and hope to those who needed it most. Whether through her work or simply through who she was, Marlene helped people feel seen, valued, and capable of change.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Marion, Marilyn, Marvin, Melvin, Manley, Morris, and Michael and their families along with many friends. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Elden McLachlan and Fern McLachlan (née Smythe).    Marlene will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the quiet, enduring care she offered to everyone around her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family who loved her deeply.

A private family gathering will be held to honor her life. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
