Our beloved Marlene Faye Dutkiwch went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2023. She stepped into Heaven at 1:00 p.m. with her faithful partner, Duane by her side, her loving son, Colby, her dear sister, Audrey, her brother-in-law, Denis and her loving niece, Colinda.
Marlene’s family consisted of her loving spouse, Duane Bell; her children, Colby Michael Dutkiwch, Kalie Margarite-Ann Dutkiwch; step-daughter, Louann Bell (Justin Freison); and treasured grandson, Carter; her brothers, Ed (Cathy) Smith, Ernest (Lorraine) Smith, Bob (Kathy) Smith, Ronald (Alberta) Smith; her sisters, Shirley (Lorne) Backus, Eileen Wilker, Audrey (Denis) Georget; sister-in-law, Cheryl Smith; special niece, Colinda LeBlanc; many numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret (Dench) Smith; her stepdad (uncle), Raymon Smith; brother, Raymond Smith; brother-in-law, Harry Wilker; sister, Joan Büttner; sister-in-law, Yvonne Smith; father-in-law, Gib Bell; mother-in-law, Ida Bell; nephew, Chad Smith; and great-niece, Rebecca Georget.
Marlene was born on July 8, 1960, in Melfort, SK, to Margaret and William Smith. She attended Burke School and Melfort Composite High School and many years later was accepted at the University of Regina and University of Saskatchewan. Marlene loved her work as a social worker, doing crafts of all kinds, playing her organ, and spending time with family.
The service for Marlene will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, May 12, 2023, at River Park Funeral Home. Family and friends unable to attend the service may view it online at https://fweb.tv/101377. Interment to follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, then lunch in the Arbor Lounge. In Marlene’s memory, contributions may be made to Prince Albert Women’s Shelter.
