Marjorie Loraine Stene late of Prince Albert, SK passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at St. Paul’s hospital in Saskatoon, SK surrounded by family. Marjorie was born on December 31st, 1946, in St. John’s Newfoundland.
Marjorie lived a full and active life, both in her work and in the things, she loved…gardening, travel, craft sales and family. She worked for the Parks and Rec department for the City of Prince Albert until her retirement. She took pride in her career and the years she dedicated herself to her role there. Retirement didn’t slow her down; it simply gave her and her beloved Allan more time to focus on the things that brought them both joy.
Marjorie and Allan enjoyed time spent at the cabin at Candle Lake where they enjoyed boating, fishing, and evenings around the bonfire with friends and family. They both had a true passion for gardening and Marjorie was especially known for her beautiful wave petunias and her talent for keeping her home filled with thriving plants. She also loved celebrations, particularly her New Year’s Eve birthdays, bringing family and friends together for music, laughter, and dancing.
Travel was another great joy in her life. Marjorie loved trips back to Newfoundland, enjoyed cruises, and adventures to Europe and Mexico. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, both in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come
Marjorie is survived by her sister, Jean (Spencer) Rogers; step-daughters, Charlene (Doug) Altenberg, Darlene Cupid, Michelle Skauge (Gerry Love); grandchildren, Jennifer Altenberg, Ashley (Travis Nicholls), Ryan, Nathan Cupid and Kenzie Klyne; great grandchildren, Carter and Brody Nicholls, and Lennie Rose Altenberg; sister in-law, Eileen (Gilles) Bru; Special mention to Marjorie’s Aunt Betty and 99 year old Aunt Muriel….Marjorie was very close to both of them; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in Newfoundland.
