Marion Blocka passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Marion was born in Rosthern, Saskatchewan on May 19, 1928 to Alexander and Barbara Blocka, the youngest of three children. Marion was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Anna and Pauline. Marion is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary; his children Larry (Elaine), Bob (Jean), Ken (Lynn) and Bonnie (Chris); his grandchildren, Nicole (Brian), Chad, Garrett, Bryn, Cole, Robin and Gavin; his great-grandchildren Tyler and Kaylin. Marion will be remembered for his sharp wit, great sense of humour and love of family. He was a talented farmer who grew a few acres into thousands to provide for his family. In spare time, many hours were spent ice fishing with close friends, listening to old-time music and playing cards. Marion and Mary were lucky to have been able to spend 17 years wintering in Arizona with many special friends. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 770 – 14th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Bishop Bryan Bayda officiating both services.
