It is with great sadness the family of Marilyn Joan Markiewicz, late of Prince Albert, SK announce her passing on October 3rd, 2026. Marilyn was born and raised in Prince Albert, SK.

Marilyn worked for a time at Zellers where she enjoyed interacting with other employees and assisting customers.

Marilyn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1988. The disease progressed to the point that she was unable to live on her own and in 2002 moved into Mont St. Joseph Home.

Marilyn loved her Mont St Joe’s family where she made many friends with both residents and staff. She enjoyed visiting, painting, crafts, bingo, and attending spiritual services. Marilyn was not one to complain; she accepted her life with resolve and made the best of each day.  As the disease progressed over the years it limited her ability to fully partake in some activities, but she attended what she could, when she could.

Marilyn is survived by her children Lindsey & Landon (Chantelle); Her grandchildren Kylie, Aiden, Tessa, Kyra, & Jayla; Her sister Donna (Gerhard) Haider; Her brother Arthur Ashdown; Her nieces and nephews Chris, Shyla, Ryan, Devin Martyniuk (his kids Holden & Amalie), & Darcie (Chris) O’Neill (their kids Toby & Nathan); & Her brother-in-law Fred Martyniuk.

Marilyn was predeceased by her father Wilfred Ashdown; her mother Rita Ashdown & her sister Shirley Martyniuk.
