Marie Moniuk

Mrs. Marie Jeanne Moniuk, late of Prince Albert, SK passed away on January 28, 2015 at the age of 89 years. Marie was born on December 9, 1925 to Fred and Julia Autet. She was raised on the family farm east of Domremy, SK and attended Pea Vine School until Grade 8. One of her biggest regrets in life was that she could not continue her education as she loved learning. On January 22, 1948 she married William “Bill” Moniuk at Domremy and they moved to Wakaw, SK, where they would live for the next thirty-nine years. In addition to being a wife, mother and home maker Marie worked as a house keeper and caretaker until she retired and moved to Prince Albert in 1987. Marie was a person who took pleasures in the simplest things in life. She loved gardening, baking, crocheting, visiting with family and friends but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle. Marie is survived by her son Dennis (Colleen) Moniuk of Saskatoon, SK; her grandson Tyler (Nikkee) Moniuk and great-granddaughter Jenaya of Saskatoon, SK; her grandson Kyle Moniuk of Saskatoon, SK; her sisters: Lucille Toner of Calgary, AB, Elsie (Ernie) Paulson of Rose Valley, SK, and Lorraine Autet of Regina, SK; her brothers: Roger (Cecile) Autet of Prince Albert, SK and John (Maureen) Autet of Regina, SK; her sister-in-law Barb Autet; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her husband Bill; her parents: Alfred and Julia Autet; her brothers: Marcel, Ken and Dennis; her sisters: Margaret Autet, Celeste “Sally” Burechailo, and Hermine “Babe” Burechailo; her brothers-in-law: Alex Burechailo, John Burechailo, and Lloyd Toner; and her sister-in-law Sylvia Autet. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the Chapel of MacKenzie Funeral Home, 130 9th St. E, Prince Albert, SK on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Father DJ Vu as celebrant.
