It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Morgan announce her passing on October 2, 2026, at the age of 75, following a lengthy illness.
Marie was born on December 3, 1950, in Prince Albert, and grew up on the family farm in Whitfield. She attended the Whitfield school until it closed in 1965, then continued her education at Composite High School until 1968.
After high school, Marie worked for a summer at Emma Lake Art Camp and later at the Flamingo Hotel. It was during the summer of 1968 that she met Brian, and they were married on May 10, 1969.
They moved to several different provinces as Brian followed employment opportunities in the pulp and paper industry. They lived in Kitimat, British Columbia, The Pas, Manitoba, and briefly in Espanola, Ontario, before eventually returning to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, which made Marie very happy as she was back in her hometown.
Their son, Kevin, was born in Kitimat in 1970, and their daughter, Carmen, was born in The Pas in 1971. Through all of their moves and changes, Marie spent her time raising her children and caring for her family. She also babysat other children before eventually returning to the workforce. In 1984, she began working for the City of Prince Albert as a concession worker, mainly at the water slides in the summer and Stuart Arena in the winter.
Marie was excited to become a grandmother. Brandon was born in 1995, followed by Danielle in 1996 and Caleb in 1999. She was incredibly proud of all three of her grandchildren.
Marie faced many challenges throughout her life, including a long battle with cancer. Her strength and determination carried her through many difficult years and gave her precious additional time with the people she loved.
In her later years, Marie found joy in the simple things—painting rocks, visiting with family, and sitting in her favourite chair watching the birds.
Marie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Brian; her children, Kevin and Carmen (Donald); her grandchildren, Brandon, Danielle (Jeff), and Caleb (Kristy); and by her extended family, including the Dewhurst family, and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine LeCorre and Joseph LeCorre; her brother, Raymond LeCorre; her sisters-in-law, Donna LeCorre, Beatrice LeCorre, and Darlene Scott; and her parents-in-law, George Morgan and Judy Morgan.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many people who cared for Marie throughout her illness and helped make her final years more comfortable. Their kindness, compassion, and support will always be remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Plaza 88, located 888 Central Avenue, Prince Albert, SK (please use east entrance).
In lieu of other tributes, donations in Marie’s memory can be made to the Rose Garden Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
