Marie Isobel McBain Wright
1925-2013.
Marie Wright passed away peacefully in her sleep to be with her Lord and Saviour, at Royal University Hospital on Saturday, November 30th at the age of 88. She was born April 02, 1925 in Togo, SK to James and Annie McBain and raised on a homestead in White Fox, SK. Marie worked as a stay-at-home mother to her six children and later became the seamstress at Victoria Union Hospital in Prince Albert until 1993. On August 8th, 1946, she married Vernon Wright of Garrick, SK. They moved to Rosetown in order to further his career in X-Ray technology, and then moved to Prince Albert where they resided until after retirement. Marie was also very involved in her church, Evangelistic Centre/Crossroads Pentecostal Assembly as Women’s Ministries President, leader in the Girls Clubs and the Sunday School department and leader of the Seniors group. In 1997 she and Vernon moved to Elim Lodge in Saskatoon where they were actively involved until health limitations prevented them. They were able to do much traveling across Canada and The United States as well as Israel, Egypt, Italy and Greece. Marie will be sadly missed by four daughters, Marilyn (Dale) Updike; Carol (Brian) Hall; Gwenn Wright (Terrance); Brenda (Stephen) Jay; two sons, Eldon (Jacqui) Wright; Gerry (Valerie) Wright; 21 grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; one brother, Alvin (Stella) McBain; two sisters-in-law, Marion McBain and Wilma Tasdjian; one brother-in-law, Lionel Tasdjian; 6 nieces and 6 nephews. Marie was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Vernon Wright; parents, James and Annie McBain; brothers, Gordon McBain and Donald McBain; sister-in-law Betty McBain; great grand-daughter and great grand-son and two nephews.
A special thank you to the many wonderful doctors and nurses who, provided care for her during the final weeks of her life.
The funeral service will take place Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive) at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ben Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of donor's choice. Arrangements are in care of Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre.
