Marguerite Sedulie Diehl (nee: Robin)
July 28, 1921 – June 30, 2013
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Marguerite Diehl on Sunday, June 30th, 2013 at St. Paul’s Hospital surrounded by her family. Marguerite was 91 years old. She was the 3rd oldest of 10 children born to Albert and Yvonne Robin. She was born on Thursday, July 28, 1921 in Moon Hills, SK. Mom spent her early years growing up in D’Amour, SK. Marguerite met the love of her life Rene Diehl and on June 3, 1946 they were married. They were blessed with their 1st child in 1948, followed by 9 more children. Mom loved her family, gardening, flowers, cooking, baking sewing and knitting. Following the death of her husband Rene in 1978, she dedicated a big part of her life volunteering and serving others through visiting the elderly at Mont St. Josephs. She was also very involved in her church as a member of the Alter Society and the Golden Age Club. Her greatest joy in life was her family and nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time with them. Her faith was very strong and never waivered even in times of sorrow. Marguerite is survived by her sons: Marcel (Christine), Omer (Bev Gellert), Dennis (Peggy), Lionel (Debbie), Andrew (Susan) and Frank (Connie); her daughters: Diane (Bob McDonald), Sylvia Kalyn (Zonie Bilanski) and Janet (Rupert Gaudet); 34 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; her siblings: Andre (Brigitte) Robin, Hubert (Muriel) Robin, Florian (Ricky) Robin, Maire-Lourdes (Origene Fillion), Doris (Hans Niederreiter) and Marthe (Robert Hoehn) and her sister-in-law Leona Robin. She was predeceased by her loving husband Rene Diehl; son Maurice Diehl; her granddaughter Shantelle Almeida; her parents Albert and Yvonne Robin; her siblings Columbe (Pete) Degagné, Gerry (Agnes) Robin and Robert Robin. The rite of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes Memorial Donations can be made payable to St. Joseph Parish for the Alter Society or to Mont St. Joseph Foundation.
