Sadly, on Sunday, June 2, 2019 Marguerite Marie Rabbitskin, late of Big River First Nation, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 years. Marguerite was born on November 10, 1946 in Big River to Elizabeth and Paul Rabbitskin.
The Wake Service for Marguerite commenced on Monday, June 2, 2019 at 6:00 pm from the Big River First Nation Band Hall. The Funeral Service took place on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00 am, also from the Band Hall, followed by Catholic Prayers at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart RC Church. Interment was in the Whitefish Catholic Cemetery.
Marguerite is lovingly survived by her children, Valerie (Jerimiah) Morissette; Rhonda Rabbitskin; Remona (Ryan) Rabbitskin; Bernell (Jill) Rabbitskin; Reggie Rabbitskin; Christopher (Crystal) Rabbitskin; her brother: John Rabbitskin; her special cousins: Veronica Duquette, Gloria Rainey, Lewis Keenatch, Theresa Bradfield; her special granddaughters: Janelle Rabbitskin, Taylor Morissette; her 30 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also remembered by her extended family and friends she loved dearly from Mistawasis. Geraldine Colomb, Dennis Morissete, Lorna Morissette, Darlene Bird, Pat and Marion Johnston’s and the rest of her nieces and nephews. Marguerite is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Elizabeth Rabbitskin; her sisters: Louise Rabbitskin, Cecilia Masuskapoe, Margaret Crane; her brothers: John George Rabbitskin, Albert Rabbitskin, Robert Rabbitskin; her special friend, Harris Bird and 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandaughter. Active pallbearers at Marguerite’s service were, Clifford Bear, Darryl LaChance, Robert Bear, Isaiah Bighetty, Darren Morissette, and Mervin Bear.
