Marguerite 'Daisy' Isobel (Ambler) Hulme
Marguerite (Daisy) Hulme died peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, SK on Sunday, May 6, 2012. Daisy was born and raised on the family farm at Pathlow, SK. She moved with her parents and younger sister to Prince Albert in 1949 and soon became employed with the Saskatchewan Fish Marketing Board for a few years. In 1958 she married Thomas Arthur Hulme, and they resided on the Hulme farm south of Prince Albert until their retirement to Birch Hills, SK in 1979. Daisy continued living in Birch Hills following Tom’s death in 1997, and then moved to Saskatoon in 2001. Daisy was very involved in the Anglican Church in all the communities she lived in and held various offices on the ACW Diocesan Board in the Diocese of Saskatchewan. Daisy will be remembered for her love and compassion for others, and we will all miss her. Daisy is survived by her daughter: Catherine (Ken) Tickner of Saskatoon, SK; sisters: Vera Storey (Joshua) of Saskatoon, SK and Norene Asplind of Prince Albert, SK; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband: Thomas Arthur Hulme; her parents: Norman and Madge (nee Trent) Ambler; one brother-in-law: Walter Asplind; and her sister-in-law: Margaret Hulme. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made to Luther Care Foundation, 1212 Osler St., Saskatoon, SK S7N 0T9, or a charity of the donor’s choice. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 1406 8th Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK with Rev. Paula Foster officiating. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Northern Funeral Service, MacKenzie Chapel, 130 – 9th St. East, Prince Albert, SK followed by interment at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery.
