Margaret (Noye) Furlought

It is with great sadness that we have lost a wife, mother, grandmother. Margaret Furlought passed away September 29, 2023 at Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert, SK.
Margaret was born in Upsalquitch, NB, to the late Charles Victor Noye and Gertrude Jones. She was the second oldest of four children. After Margaret finished her education she became a teacher and taught in a one room schoolhouse.
It was in Campbellton, NB, that Margaret met her soul mate, Donald, who she married in 1961. The couple welcomed two children, Karl in 1962, and Carol-Anne in 1963. Margaret chose to stay home and make a home for her family in Dalhousie, NB, while Donald worked at the Paper Mill.
In 1988, Margaret and Donald moved to Prince Albert where Donald worked at Prince Albert Pulp and Paper Mill until his retirement. While Donald worked, Margaret continued with her pursued her passion for curling, which took her to many communities in Saskatchewan. She had quite a competitive streak. In the summer, ‘Marg’ would golf. It was common to see Margaret out bright and early on the golf course at Cooke Golf and Curling Club. She also spent her time tending to her flowers and garden.
Margaret was an active volunteer at the Victoria Hospital. Once Donald retired the couple donated their time delivering Meals on Wheels, Marg also spent many years working in the office at the Cook Golf and Curling Club.
Margaret loved to travel, and she and Donald spent a few winters in Mexico and then in later years, Osoyoos, BC, where they would be reunited with friends from the year before.
Margaret was the last remaining member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles, and Gertrude Noye; siblings, Albert, Lester, and Faye Gauvreau; son Karl; granddaughter, Victoria Margaret.
Margaret is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Donald; daughter, Carol-Anne, Prince Albert, SK; grandchildren, Allan, Shane, Olivia, of New Brunswick; Alex, and Cassie of Ontario; aunt, Essie Gallie of Toronto, ON; cousin, Jim of Prince George, BC; and many other cousins.
Cremation will take place and Margret’s ashes will travel to New Brunswick for burial in the family plot. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
