Marcien Doucette

Marcien Laurent Doucette passed away at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the age of 91 years. He was born on July 29, 1925 in Duck Lake, SK to Marguerite (Lanovaz) and Ernest Doucette. Marcien is survived by his wife Rita; his children Marion (Ron) Utley, Larry, Patsy and Robert (Betty) Doucette, Harold Laliberte, Eileen (Terry) Rheindel and Geraldine Shier; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and his brother Archie Doucette. He was predeceased by his parents; his daughter Careen and son Allan; 4 brothers and 2 sisters; great granddaughter Naomi Garr-Mutsuing. Dad would want to be remembered for his love of horses. He bred, raised, raced and trained both horses and riders all his life up until he was no longer able to, which was the summer of 2016. Marcien worked for the CNR for 38 years and retired in 1986. Dad’s memory was incredible up until his passing and always had a great story to tell. We would like to say a special thank you to Dad’s special friends and Victor and Theresa Parenteau for visiting Dad everyday while he was in the hospital. Dad truly enjoyed visiting with his friends and reminiscing about his horses. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Marks Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Jim Kaptein.
