It is with saddened hearts that the family announce the passing of Marcella Fahl (nee Schedlosky) on March 5, 2025, at the age of 87 years old.
Born March 3rd, 1938, in Humboldt Saskatchewan to Joseph and Mary Schedlosky. Marcella was the youngest of 9 children. She grew up on a farm in Bay Trail outside of Humbolt, Saskatchewan. She met and married the love of her life, Alois Fahl in 1956. Alois began employment with SaskTel, and they moved from Humboldt to Prince Albert the same year. They raised a family of three sons, Alphonse, Vernon and Patrick. Marcella took up employment with the Holy Family Hospital and remained there until her retirement 25 years later. In 1977, the family moved from Prince Albert to an acreage in Spruce Home, Marcella had a love for country living. After Alois passed in 2002, Marcella sold the acreage and moved back to Prince Albert where she remained until her passing.
Marcella loved spending time with her family, raising her pets and had a passion for music. She was a talented musician playing the accordion, keyboard and harmonica frequently accompanying Alois and Vernon on their guitars. She loved to garden, often sharing her fresh vegetables, canning and preserves. Her green thumb also showed in her yard and flower beds that were always beautifully kept. Another avid hobby of Marcella’s was working the camcorder and capturing treasured memories.
Enduring the long cold months of winter, Marcella always met the duty of keeping her driveway and sidewalk clear of snow. One day Patrick decided to bring a brand-new snow blower to his mother. She was very pleased with it but was unsure about operating it, after a training lesson all went well. She was proud to say, “I’m the only woman on the block that operates a snow blower!” Marcella was still operating that snow blower this past winter. Marcella demonstrated incredible strength and determination in the face of challenges throughout her life.
Marcella is survived by her son, Alphonse and his wife Georgette Fahl; daughter-in-law, Novalea Fahl; granddaughter, Deanna Wolter and great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Alexander and Sophia; sister, Agnes Crook; brother-in-law, Ernie Mussato; sister-in-law, Pauline Fahl and numerous nieces and nephews.
