Marcel Goddue

Mr. Marcel Lucien Goddue, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 with his daughter and grandson at his side. Marcel was born on April 9, 1930 on the family farm in Hoey, SK. He lived there until 1937 when the family moved to Zenon Park and then to Arborfield in 1945, spending winters working in the bush around Carrot River, SK. In 1951, the family moved to Prince Albert. In 1963, Marcel married Patricia “Pat” Trueman at Sacred Heart Cathedral, and soon after had son Allan. They moved around Prince Albert and had daughter Shirley years later. They moved to Duck Lake in 1974, only to return to Prince Albert in 1976. Marcel worked as an independent painter prior to getting a job at the Holy Family Hospital, where he stayed until his retirement. Then they moved to the farm in Strong Pine until Pat’s passing in 1995. Marcel then moved back to Prince Albert with Shirley and her family until going to the hospital. Thanks to Dr. Craig Cantin and the nursing staff on levels 5 and 6 for their care of Marcel. Marcel is survived by: his son Allan Goddue of Alberta and grandson Bryan; his daughter Shirley (Marc) Aubin of Prince Albert and grandson and best friend Alex, step grandchildren Veronica and Aiden ; his sister Hélène (Louis) Marcotte of Meath Park; His sisters-in-law Zinia Goddue of Kinistino, SK and Carol Waite of Maple Ridge, BC; his brother-in-law Gord (Tammy) Trueman of Prince Albert. He was predeceased by: his loving wife Patricia “Pat” October 26, 1995; his brother Albert July 18, 2004; his parents Arphire September 18, 1978 and Albertine (nee Agrand) October 8, 1995; his father-and-mother-in-law Norman and Louisa (nee Pillar) in 1993; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24 at River Park Memorial Chapel with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 25 at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, with Officiant Father Matthew Nguyen.
