DANSEREAU, Marcel Edouard
1924 – 2013

Dad peacefully left us to join Mom on January 22, 2013 after a brief illness. Dad was born October 13, 1924 in Vonda, SK to Alice and Albert Dansereau. He later moved to Prince Albert where he attended school and met the love of his life, Marcelle Casgrain. They were married September 17, 1947 and together they raised 5 children. Dad started his career owning and operating BA Service Station in Prince Albert, this career was concluded when he sold his land to make room for the construction of the new Diefenbaker Bridge. He joined the Molson Brewery in 1958, retiring in 1989. Dad was an avid member in the Kinsmen Club and Knights of Columbus in his earlier years and in his later years he volunteered at the Victoria Hospital. His passion in life was fishing. Dad looked forward to the annual fishing trips with his sons, grandsons and friends. Mom and Dad travelled, spending winter months in Arizona, as well as in Hawaii, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and other exotic places. Dad lived the Serenity Prayer.

Dad is survived by his four sons Richard (Lydia) of Prince Albert and their family Michael (Lori) & their family Michaela and Jordan; Curtis (Sandra); Craig (Danielle) and their family Jacob, Nolan and Kashton; Robert (Carol) of Sherwood Park, AB and their family Ryan (Jessica) and their family Logan; Allison and Kaitlyn and Nicole (Jamie); Marc of Saskatoon and Pat (Elena) of Calgary, AB; his daughter Lise McKenna (Don) of Prince Albert and their family Kyle (Marissa), Heidi (Eric) & their son Kayden and Melissa; his sisters Therese Claude and Marguerite Emond of Boucherville, QC; his brother Camille (Jeannine) of Boucherville, QC and numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his wife Marcelle (Casgrain); his parents Albert and Alice (Dionne) Dansereau; his brothers Louis Dansereau and Leo Dansereau; his sisters-in-law Yvonne Casgrain, Megan Dansereau and Francis Dansereau; his brothers-in-law Jean Claude and Mario Emond and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jules and Sarah Casgrain. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Father Maurice Fiolleau officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
