In Loving Memory, he will never be forgotten
Marcel passed away at the age of 68 in the RM of Shellbrook on November 18, 2025.
He was born on December 7, 1956, in Prince Albert to his parents Elwood and Katherine Haugen.
Marcel leaves behind to mourn his passing, His brother Myron (Jeanette) Haugen; Sisters Glenda Davies and Donna (Raymond) Wyatt; Nieces and nephew Michelle (Craig) Garrett and their son Joshua, Jasmine Haugen and her children Jesse and Isabella, Denise Haugen and her children Gillian and Carson; Numerous cousins; Aunt Hildegarde Butz; His special friend and caregiver Gloria Dienes.
He was predeceased by his parents Elwood Haugen and Katherine Haugen; Brother-in-law Edward Davies; Great nephew Kion Haugen.
Marcel attended Grade 1 at Canwood in the old Red Brick School House and then completed 6 years at the Kinsmen school in Prince Albert.
He was baptized in 1960 at the old Valbrand Church and confirmed in 1971 at Zion Lutheran in Canwood.
Marcel was a hard worker and was willing to help others. Once he started a job, it was hard to get him to stop until it was finished. He did not have a lot of requests for himself, but he was always pleased when mom made his favorite cake.
Marcel helped his father on the farm as well as many other farmers in the area. He was well known in Canwood for his snow shovelling, grass cutting at the cemeteries, Chronicle delivery for almost all of the senior ladies in the community.
Marcel was a big Elvis fan; in 1982 he was able to travel to Memphis to see Graceland. It was a memorable trip.
When he was younger, he enjoyed snowmobiling. If anyone ever got stuck, they could count on Marcel to get them out.
He will be buried with his parents at a later date in the Dry Creek Cemetery.
Marcel loved Elvis, he worked hard when he was interested in a project, and he was always interested in the Canwood news. It is with sorrow we announce his sudden passing.
