It is with sadness we the family of Magne Erikson announce his passing on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Magne was born November 4, 1932, the youngest of 10 children born to Norwegian immigrants Ole and Karen Erikson on the family farm in the Tiger Hills district south of Birch Hills. Magne is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Faye; daughters Brenda Erikson, Wanda Hynne and Christine (Bing) Fung; grandchildren: Erin (Chris) Gordon, Brook Fung and Katherine Fung; great grandsons: Carson, Gavin, Garrett and Griffin Gordon; his brother Einar (Hazel) Erikson; Magne’s sisters-in-law and their families; as well as many nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his parents Ole and Karen Erikson; siblings Magnhild (Helmer) Bastness, Olga (Einar) Rundbraaten, Emma (Allan) Smith, Olaf (Marg Roberts) Erikson, Olianne (Magne) Rundbraaten, Agnes Tubman, Dagny (Sevald) Berg and Ida (Harry) Pawlik; his mother and father-in-law Albert and Dorothy Haug, and his beloved grandaughter Amy Tarasiuk. We as a family are so grateful to have shared our time with such a loving and kind man. May you forever rest in peace dad. The family invites you on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. to a Graveside Service at St Peters Cemetery (6 km straight south of Birch Hills), followed by a tea at the Saron Lutheran Church. (Directions for anyone needing them will be provided at the service.) In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations to St Peters Cemetery Fund C/O Shirley Jensen, Birch Hills, SK S0J 0G0 or to a charity of the donors choice.
